Thanks to the diverse and varied network of trails, there is something for everyone, for beginners and cross-country skiing professionals.

Cross-country skiing trails in Val Müstair

General description
Harmoniously cropped terrain and impressive stone pine forest. The chances of observing game are particularly high here.

Entry at the valley station of the ski lift, ascent along the ski slope approx. 5 min. to the start of the trail. The high altitude trail is also used as a winter hiking trail.
Thanks to the altitude, this trail is particularly snow-sure.

General description
Technically demanding high-altitude trail on the sunny terrace Lü (1920 m above sea level) with a length of 3 km. Thanks to its altitude, the trail is very snow-sure and is groomed for both classic and free technique. It requires a good cross-country skiing technique because of some small bumps.

Route description
From Malles/Mals on the SS41 to the Swiss border to Müstair. From Müstair on the H28 to Fuldera. Lü is located above Fuldera and can be reached via a side road in 10 minutes by car.

The Val Müstair, home of cross-country skiing superstar Dario Cologna and his brother Gianluca, is located in the southeastern corner of Graubünden and stretches between the Ofen Pass and the Italian Val Venosta Valley. Thanks also to the popularity of the Cologna brothers, the area is increasingly turning into a cross-country skiing El Dorado. The easier circular trail "La Gronda" starts in Fuldera d'Aint. The track leads across the plain of Palüds, always along the picturesque river Rombach and back through a beautiful forest landscape. The entry is possible in Fuldera d'Aint.

The challenging valley trail starts in Valchava. At Fuldera the track leads through the forest and then continues over the plain of Palüds. Always along the picturesque river Rombach, it goes to Tschierv. It is possible to start in Valchava, Fuldera and Tschierv. The "Tour de Ski", a competition in cross-country skiing over several days, regularly takes place in Val Müstair. For particularly hardy skiers, the "Tour de Ski" trail at the end in Tschierv offers the highlight of a perfect day of cross-country skiing. The trail here is particularly steep and demanding.

"La Artificiala" is a cozy 2.5 kilometers long circular trail with a beautiful view, which is very suitable for beginners as well as for advanced skiers. Thanks to artificial snow production, you can cross-country ski here even if the natural snow is still waiting. It is an easy and varied route along the plain below Fuldera. Located directly at the cross-country skiing center in Furom, the trail is easily and quickly accessible. From this trail you have a great view of the landmark of Val Müstairs the Piz Daint and Piz Dora.

General description
The cross-country skiing trail in Buffalora offers a unique dreamlike scenery with a view into a deeply snow-covered area. The start of the 3km long trail is at the parking lot Buffalora Nr. 2, drive direction to the top of the pass Ofen Pass/Val Müstair, which is about 200 m away from the inn Buffalora. The three loops are tracked for classic technique as well as for skating. Another track is also prepared as a winter hiking or sledging trail.
This trail was created on private initiative and is also managed by a private person. Therefore, it would be desirable if a donation is left at the Buffalora Inn after use.

Take a short break while cross-country skiing and admire the fantastic scenery that Buffalora has to offer, not only with its unique plain, but also with its surrounding snow-capped peaks, some of them 3000m high. The imposing Piz Nair, for example, which stands proudly on the border of the Swiss National Park. Looking towards the Ofen Pass, you can see the Munt da la Bescha, to the right of the Ofen Pass the Piz Daint, above the Alp Buffalora the Munt Buffalora.
